The evaluation of paintings is usually done collectively. It is conducted by several experienced collectors from the "Kyiv Collectors' Club." Each expert expresses their subjective opinion on the art valuation based on years of collecting experience. The consensus reached by our evaluation experts will be communicated to you. To submit a painting for evaluation, simply click the "upload" button located in the upper left corner of the website. Registration is not required. You need to provide: Name, contact phone number, size of the painting, and upload a photo of the front side. Fields marked with red asterisks must be filled in. Contact details are not published and are available only to the site administration.

IMPORTANT! Sometimes two quite different concepts are confused: expert valuation of a painting and painting expertise (authentication).
Expert valuation of art is an estimation of the work's value. Expert valuation is handled by Art Dealers (art sellers) and collectors (with extensive experience). Their task is to evaluate the painting, name a realistic price, and state how much this art can be sold for currently and/or in the foreseeable future. The work must be evaluated considering market conditions, the popularity of the subject, and the current fashion for a particular artist's paintings.
Usually, the art market behaves quite predictably, so evaluating a painting is not very difficult. Primarily, the art market depends on the overall economic situation in the country. There are certain fluctuations in the painting market that are undoubtedly reflected in valuations. These fluctuations mainly depend on supply and demand. For example, every autumn there is a significant increase in interest in paintings with agricultural themes. This is because the harvest is gathered, planned profits are received, and satisfied businessmen engage in decorating their homes and offices. A noticeable revival of the art market occurs before professional and national holidays.
Sometimes slumps are observed; for instance, in winter, "cold" subjects (depicting winter or early spring) sell much worse, so the price for such subjects during this period drops slightly, and thus the evaluation of paintings may be somewhat lower.
There is almost always a steady demand for narrative compositions featuring human figures. Paintings where people's faces are well-defined, showing emotions, feelings, and distinct character, are especially valuable. Subjects where some action is taking place are always interesting. We try to collect such paintings separately in the Kolkhoz (Collective Farm) category and evaluate paintings with such subjects at a maximum.
Painting expertise is the assessment of a painting's authenticity. Authentication consists of two separate examinations: art historical expertise and physicochemical analysis. Art historical expertise is conducted by art historians and restorers in specially created organizations. Their main task is to determine the authenticity of a work of art and protect cultural values from being exported abroad. Along with art historical expertise, physicochemical analysis (chemical analysis of the painting) is sometimes used to determine authenticity. Physicochemical expertise is used much less frequently than art historical expertise, mainly only if art historians have doubts about the time the painting was created or the materials used.
